Greeley Taxpayers Win Big Tonight by Voting YES on 1A to Freeze the $1 Billion Cascadia Project
Greeley, Colo. (February 24, 2026)
On Tuesday evening, in an enormous victory for free speech and community advocacy, the residents of Greeley slammed home a message that they deserve a voice when it comes to the future of their city.
Residents celebrate a decisive win for fiscal responsibility and transparency as voters approved Ballot Issue 1A, blocking the risky $1 billion Cascadia/Catalyst development project.
“This is a historic win for every Greeley family that refused to let city leaders mortgage our future on a billion-dollar gamble,” said Brandon Wark, Co-Chair of Greeley Demands Better. “I’m proud to be a Greeley resident and in doing my part to build awareness of this risky deal. Thank you, Greeley for showing up and demanding a voice.”
“Democracy delivered exactly what Greeley demanded – no more blank checks for risky projects that put public buildings and hardworking families at risk,” said Rhonda Solis, Co-Chair of Greeley Demands Better. “Tonight, we begin building the transparent, responsible future our community deserves.”
Greeley Demands Better is a bipartisan, citizen-led campaign that collected nearly 14,000 signatures to place the Catalyst financing referendum on February 24, 2026, ballot. The group led the charge beginning in Spring 2025 when residents discovered the developer of this project was attempting to skate the approval through city council without a vote from the residents.
Co-chairs Brandon Wark and Rhonda Solis are joined by thousands of Greeley residents demanding fiscal responsibility and voter input on billion-dollar decisions.
